General Assembly Start-up Workshop

General Assembly began life as an incubator offering space to new start-ups for cheapie prices. But very quickly they began seeing the need to offer classes to early stage entrepreneurs in New York booming tech scene. This week GA is offering a kind of start-up boot camp for newbies to the arena presented by one of General Assembly regional directors, Anna Lindow. Practical information for those new to the scene. This free class is an orientation to help newcomers to the startup scene get acquainted with the exciting world of tech in NYC. We will give you the inside scoop on key events/meetups to attend, people, companies, VCs, blogs, incubators, programs, hot issues, and more. Learn the role of key players such as TechStars, HackNY, New York Tech Meetup, Foursquare, WeAreNYTech, betaworks, and Tumblr.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Anna Lindow is the General Manager of Research and Development at General Assembly, which means she oversees content marketing, user acquisition, social media, and generally gets to indulge her love of spreadsheets. In her spare time she plays guitar badly and codes in Ruby on Rails badly. She holds a BA in American Studies and Creative Writing from Columbia.
