Chocolate production from an active child slave trade was first reported by the BBC in 2001. On Africa’s Ivory Coast, this remains a serious problem. Thousands of boys ages 13-21 have been captured and sold into slavery and forced to labor for years on cocoa farms in brutal conditions.
