Towards a Slave-Free Holiday

So you probably had NO idea that the little truffle on your bedstand was harvested using child slaves. Perhaps it wasn’t, but now you know it might be. Chocolate production from an active child slave trade was first reported by the BBC in 2001. On Africa’s Ivory Coast, this remains a serious problem. Thousands of boys ages 13-21 have been captured and sold into slavery and forced to labor for years on cocoa farms in brutal conditions.
